Principal Message - Admission for B. Arch. from 1st to 5th Year 20 - 21

The students who have appeared for the 12th standard, this is a crucial time to choose an appropriate vocation. In the present situation of the Corona pandemic, some of you may be concerned about the career choice and the future that this choice will lead to.

As a practicing architect for the past 37 years and a principal of a prestigious college of Architecture, I would strongly recommend you to choose Architecture as your vocation.

Historically architects have created the monuments and masterpieces that represent the civilizations across the world. In current times architecture is accessible to the masses and we are surrounded by iconic buildings as well as the pragmatic shelters of multitude of human activities.

What are the eligibility criteria to take up architectural education?Although many of these activities came to a grinding halt during this pandemic, it has also opened up many new possibilities to effectively continue the human development. It has also underlined a sensitive issue of balancing the built environment with the natural environment. This will certainly lead to retrofitting the existing structures to suit the "new normal" as well as designing the new buildings, communities and cities in a more sensitive way. Life will not only move on post COVID but it will also flourish in a more responsible way. This will call for a new generation of Architects.

Students need minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in P,C,M in a science stream of 10+2 programme.

In addition they need to pass the special entrance test called NATA, conducted by the Council of Architecture.

They also need a nonzero score in paper 2 of JEE Mains.

These criteria are relaxed to 45% for students from reserved categories.

In Maharashtra, the eligible students need to apply online through DTE, with their performance details mentioned above and the priority list of colleges.
